Maternal-Fetal Medicine

A specialized team focused on treating high-risk pregnancies and collaborating with a network of physicians.

Every pregnancy is a miracle, but sometimes mothers and their babies need extra care—and it can all be treated under one roof.

At Jackson Medical Group, we offer a private practice staffed with high-risk pregnancy physicians (or maternal-fetal medicine specialists) who will consult on the right course of treatment for every patient’s unique needs.

This includes:

  • High-resolution ultrasound: Checks on aspects of the baby’s well-being, growth, and development
  • Chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis: Tests to evaluate the genetic makeup of the baby
  • Nuchal translucency testing: Identifies risks for chromosome and anatomic abnormalities
  • Doppler studies: Evaluates the baby’s blood flow
  • Percutaneous umbilical cord sampling/cordocentesis: Uses umbilical cord blood to test for chromosome abnormalities or blood disorders
  • Non-invasive genetic screening, including: Biochemical screening, such as Sequential Screening, and cell-free fetal DNA testing (NIPT), which screens a sample of the mother’s blood for possible genetic conditions in the child
  • Genetic testing for inherited conditions
  • Pre-conception and pregnancy counseling regarding any medical condition affecting the patient

Whether your doctor simply requests a high-level ultrasound, or a consult on a concerning medical condition, such as gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia or high blood pressure, at Jackson Medical Group, we are positioned to provide the best, most comprehensive care.

Should your pregnancy require a specialist either for you or your baby, you’ll have access to the experts throughout the larger Jackson Health System network to ensure every aspect of your pregnancy is managed safely for you and your little miracle.

We are proud to have strong relationships with the OB/GYNs in our community. We collaborate often with them and provide our expertise to your care team.

In the end, our primary concern is a healthy pregnancy, and safe delivery for you and your baby.
